I’m Jo, an Isle of Man bridal hair stylist, salon owner and the person who’ll arrive with a plan to keep you completely at ease on your wedding morning.

I’ve spent years behind the chair and almost five years building my salon, Runway22, but bridal is the work I’ve always been drawn back to.

Of course, I absolutely love creating the finished style. But it’s everything around it too: getting to know you, helping you find what feels right and being there when the nerves, excitement and reality of your big day all start to kick in.
​
Joanne Alice Hair is my way of giving that part of my work the time and attention it deserves.

I was incredibly nervous about having my hair done for my wedding. After experiencing alopecia, my hair has always been one of my biggest insecurities, so finding someone I could completely trust was really important to me.
One of my bridesmaids had recommended Joanne, saying she was the only person she trusted with her hair, so I knew I had to get in touch.
From our very first consultation, I felt completely at ease. We talked through colours, styles and lots of different ideas, with Pinterest definitely becoming our best friend! Together, we worked out exactly what I wanted.
My hair trial was such a lovely, relaxing experience. Joanne’s excitement and passion for creating my bridal hair was so obvious, and it made me feel completely confident that I was in the best hands.
When she finished my trial, I was honestly blown away. I never imagined my hair could look like that. It was even more beautiful than the inspiration pictures I had been saving!
On my wedding morning, Joanne was such a calming presence amongst all the excitement and craziness. She never rushed me and took the time she needed to make sure my hair was absolutely perfect.
But more than just creating beautiful hair, Joanne gave me something I never thought I would have on my wedding day — confidence.
She took something that had always made me feel self-conscious and turned it into something that made me feel beautiful. She gave me the confidence to walk down the aisle feeling like the best version of myself.
And somehow, my hair stayed perfect all day and was still looking amazing the next morning, even after sleeping on it!
Joanne didn’t just do my hair. She listened to me, understood exactly what I wanted, made me feel completely comfortable and then created something even better than I could have imagined.
She became a friend throughout the whole experience, and she is someone I will always remember when I look back on my wedding day.
I will be forever grateful to Joanne for giving me the bridal hair I had only dreamed of and, more importantly, for making me feel truly beautiful.
